Md. Ashekur Rahman

Md. Ashekur Rahman: Md. Ashekur Rahman completed his MS (in Fisheries Management) and B.Sc. (Hons’) Fisheries degree from the Department of Fisheries at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. His research interests include biology, ecology, stock assessment of aquatic organisms, climate change impact on aquatic resources, etc., to conserve and sustainably manage aquatic resources. He collaborates with several universities and research organizations in the country and abroad and has published 50+ peer-reviewed scientific articles. His vision is to find ways and interventions for food and nutrition security as well as a healthy planet.

Obaidur Rahman

Obaidur Rahman is a dedicated fisheries researcher currently affiliated with the Department of Fisheries at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. With a strong educational background and extensive research experience, he has become a notable figure in the field of fisheries and marine science. He achieved his Bachelor's degree in Fisheries and Master's degree in Fisheries Management, Department of Fisheries at the University of Rajshahi. During his Master's coursework, Mr. Rahman was awarded the prestigious National Science and Technology (NST) fellowship by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Bangladesh. This recognition underscored his dedication to advancing scientific research and his potential as a leading researcher in the field of fisheries. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics including fisheries and marine science, life history traits and their ecological roles, expertise in fisheries biology, he investigates the biological aspects of fish populations’ dynamics aiding in conservation and sustainable fisheries management of aquatic resources. Additionally, collaborative efforts, working closely with various universities, organizations, and fisheries research institutes. He has authored and co-authored over 30 scientific papers in both national and international journals, reflecting the depth and breadth of his research expertise. Through his publications, he disseminates valuable insights and findings, contributing to the collective knowledge pool and influencing the direction of fisheries and marine science research.

Md. Ataur Rahman

I am Md. Ataur Rahman (Atik). I have served as a Research Associate in a World Bank-funded project titled "Sustainable Development of Indigenous Fisheries in Baors of Southwestern Bangladesh through Multiple-Functions for Ensuring Food Security," which was implemented at Jashore University of Science and Technology. Prior to this, I worked as a Research Assistant in a UGC-funded project at the University of Rajshahi. With a comprehensive background in fisheries, I bring five years of experience as a researcher, focusing on the sustainable management and conservation of freshwater and marine fisheries resources. My expertise spans multiple facets, including fisheries biology, population dynamics, and stock assessments of various fish and shellfish species, leading to publications in various Scopus-indexed international journals. I have actively participated in national and international scientific conferences, enriching my exposure to diverse perspectives in fisheries research. Additionally, I possess advanced skills in data analysis using R, as well as proficiency in advanced Excel, SPSS, GraphPad Prism, TpS, and Past.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Fisheries with an impressive CGPA of 3.88 out of 4.00 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science (M.S.) in Fisheries Management at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He has developed a keen interest in fisheries management, aquatic resource conservation, and the impacts of climate change on fisheries ecosystems. His academic journey has been enriched by practical research experience, including fish feed formulation using alternative ingredients and participation in several UGC-funded research projects. These opportunities have enabled him to build strong skills in field sampling, laboratory techniques, data analysis, and scientific writing. His undergraduate thesis focused on the sustainable development of aquafeed using invasive species, showcasing his commitment to innovation and environmentally responsible practices in aquaculture and fisheries. Md. Sarwar gained valuable industry exposure during his internship at Bagerhat Sea Food Industries Ltd., where he worked on fish processing technology, microbiological quality control, and compliance with international seafood standards. Additionally, his involvement in extension and fieldwork in rural communities has equipped him with excellent communication skills, socio-economic survey capabilities, and the ability to engage effectively with local stakeholders. Driven by a vision of sustainable fisheries and ecological conservation, Md. Golam Sarwar aspires to contribute meaningfully to fisheries management, policy development, and environmental stewardship in Bangladesh and beyond.
